Common Questions
What does the Hypno in HypnoBirthing mean?
This is my favorite question! I had the same question when I took this class. Hypnosis is used in HypnoBirthing but it's not what you're probably thinking right now. You will never be controlled or in a weird trance while participating in class. You will however learn how to use self-hypnosis to achieve deep relaxation. Whatever your mind believes, your body will follow. You will be fully aware of your surroundings and you will only do what you decide to do.
Everyone has experience self hypnosis in their life. For example, have you ever been driving and before you know it you were at your destination? Yes, that is self hypnosis. We will achieve this in class through relaxation, visualization and affirmations. The words you speak to yourself are powerful! I will teach you about Fear-Tension-Pain syndrome and how important it is for you to relax during your birthing experience. The more you are relaxed the better your birthing experience will be. You will be able to focus on bringing your beautiful baby into this world without being distracted by your environment.

When is the best time to take this class?
This class can be taken anytime the mom is ready to take it. Really, anytime! Just check the schedule and see which dates work best for you!
What happens if I miss a class?
I highly recommend that you double check the dates that you have registered for to make sure they are favorable to your schedule. If you miss a class you have the option to register for a make up class. I charge $100.00 to make up a class. Keep in mind that each class is 2 1/2 - 3 hours in length.
Is HypnoBirthing only for moms that want a natural childbirth?
No, HypnoBirthing is for any mom who wants to be empowered with evidence based education to have the childbirth experience she desires.
Can I bring my children with me? Who can come with me to class?
I love children but due to the nature of the class we have to have a quiet environment during the time of deep relaxation. However, you may bring 1 birthing companion. Your birthing companion is the person who will be your biggest supporter. The birth companion's role is so important as they are also a part of your birthing experience.
